What is Still?
Still is a distraction-free writing app designed to help you focus on what matters—your words. It combines a clean, minimalist editor with ambient backgrounds, calming soundscapes, and gentle keystroke sounds to create the perfect writing environment.
Is Still free?
Still offers a 40-day free trial with all features unlocked. After the trial, you can continue using it for free forever with gentle registration reminders. Registering for $4.99/month unlocks unlimited Monk Notes, cloud sync, and removes the reminders.
Do I need an account to use Still?
You can try Still without an account in guest mode. Creating an account (free) lets you save your work, access it from anywhere, and use all features including the workspace dashboard, group chat, and job board.
How do I export my work?
You can export any document as .docx (Word) or Markdown from your workspace. Just click the export icon next to any document. Your writing is never locked into our platform.
Can I import existing documents?
Yes! Still supports importing .docx and .md files. From your workspace, click 'Import' and choose your file. We'll convert it and make it available in your document list.
Where is my data stored?
Your documents are stored securely on our servers in an encrypted database. We never look at your content. You can export or delete your data at any time.
Is my writing private?
Absolutely. We do not read, share, or train AI on your content. Your documents are encrypted, your password is hashed, and we have a strict privacy-first policy. Read more on our Privacy page.
What are Monk Notes?
Monk Notes are quick, lightweight notes separate from your main documents. Use them to capture ideas, save links, attach images, or jot down thoughts without cluttering your main writing workspace.
Can I use Still offline?
Currently, Still works best with an internet connection. Offline support is on our roadmap—a dedicated desktop app with full offline capabilities is planned.

How do I change my password?
Log in and go to your Workspace. In the Home tab, you'll find a 'Change Password' section where you can update your password after verifying your current one.
