Introducing Still 2.0: A New Chapter for Focused Writing
Still 2.0 brings an entirely redesigned editing experience, real-time collaboration with CRDT-based sync, and a new 'Monk Notes' system for capturing fleeting thoughts alongside your main work. Available now for all registered users.
Still 2.0 represents a leap forward in focused writing. After months of development, we are proud to ship the most significant update to Still since launch.
What's New in 2.0
CRDT-Based Real-Time Collaboration
Still now supports true real-time collaborative editing, powered by Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs). Unlike traditional operational-transform approaches, CRDTs allow multiple writers to work on the same document simultaneously without conflicts — even when offline. Each keystroke merges seamlessly when you reconnect.
Monk Notes 2.0
The Monk Notes system has been completely reimagined. You can now capture fleeting thoughts, links, images, and code snippets alongside your main document. Notes are stored as a linked collection, making it easy to reference research materials without leaving your writing flow.
Redesigned Editor
The editor has been rebuilt from the ground up with a cleaner, faster rendering engine. Support for rich text, markdown shortcuts, and a new distraction-free Zen Mode that blurs everything except the paragraph you are currently writing.
What's Next
We are already working on 2.1, which will bring AI-assisted outlining, better export options, and a public API for developers who want to build on top of Still.
Available now for all registered users. Trial users can explore the new features during their 40-day trial period.
