Meet Still's AI Writing Assistant: Improve, Not Replace
We've added an optional AI assistant that helps you refine your prose — tighten sentences, vary vocabulary, and fix grammar — all while preserving your unique voice. Available via the slash menu with the /improve command. Powered by Wisp for fast, privacy-respecting inference.
AI writing tools are everywhere, but most of them want to write for you. That is not what Still is about. Today, we are introducing an AI assistant designed to improve your writing while preserving your voice.
Philosophy
The Still AI assistant operates on a simple principle: improve, do not replace. It will help you:
- Tighten verbose sentences without losing nuance
- Suggest stronger word choices when appropriate
- Fix grammar and punctuation errors you might have missed
- Identify passive voice and offer active alternatives
What it will not do: write paragraphs from scratch, mimic another writer's style, or replace your thinking with machine-generated filler.
How It Works
Highlight any text and type '/improve' in the slash menu. The assistant will analyze your selection and offer suggestions inline. You can accept or reject each change individually, or apply all suggestions at once.
Privacy First
We chose Wisp foundation server as our inference provider because of their commitment to fast, stateless processing. Your text is sent to Wisp's API for analysis and immediately discarded after the response is generated. No training data is retained, and no prompts are logged.
The AI assistant is available to all registered users. You can disable it entirely from your settings if you prefer a completely AI-free writing environment.
