Introducing Stories: Real Writers, Real Journeys
Our new Stories section showcases writers from the Still community — how they use the app, what they're working on, and the rituals that keep them going. First up: an interview with novelist Amara Okafor on finding focus in a noisy world.
Writing is a solitary craft, but it does not have to be lonely. With Stories, we are opening a window into the lives and processes of writers in the Still community.
Why Stories?
Every writer develops their own rituals, routines, and relationship with the blank page. By sharing these journeys, we hope to inspire others and remind everyone that even the most accomplished writers struggle with the same things: starting, staying focused, and knowing when to let go.
First Feature: Amara Okafor
Our inaugural story features Amara Okafor, a Nigerian-British novelist whose debut The Space Between Breaths was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Amara writes exclusively in Still and shares how she uses Zen Mode to enter a flow state every morning.
She told us:
"Still is the only writing tool that disappears. I don't see buttons or menus — I just see the words. That's everything."
