Still Turns One: A Year of Quiet Writing, 100,000 Strong

One year ago, we launched Still with a simple mission: create a perfect place to think and write. Today, over 100,000 writers, developers, students, and creators use Still every day. Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to year two.

One year ago today, we launched Still. It was a quiet launch — no press release, no launch event, just a simple website and a product we believed in.

The Numbers

In our first year:

  • 100,000+ registered users
  • 1.2 million documents created
  • 4.7 million Monk Notes captured
  • 180+ countries represented
  • 24 team members (up from 5 at launch)

The Stories

The numbers matter less than the stories behind them. We have heard from:

  • A PhD student in Nairobi who wrote her entire dissertation in Still
  • A screenwriter in Los Angeles who uses Zen Mode to hit 3,000 words a day
  • A poet in Reykjavik who captures fragments of verse in Monk Notes and assembles them later
  • A journalist in Beirut who relies on Still's encryption to protect sensitive sources

What's Next

Year two is about depth. We are not chasing every feature request. We are focused on making the core writing experience even better: faster load times, smarter organization, and tools that help you finish what you start.

Thank you for trusting Still with your words. It means everything to us.
